Photos from christmas and my Birthday

I am very sad to say I didn't have a great christmas nor a great 30th birthday. I have had the flue now for over a week and was way too tired to celebrate anything. I guess I have to make up to it later when I am feeling better. I didn't even take that many photos this year but here's a few.

I took some photos of the gingerbreads that Tommie, my sister and my mother baked.

My mother had made me this painting for my birthday. I think she made a wonderful job and I am very proud of her! I'm going to find a special place for this painting.

Notre Dame

I haven't done any layouts for a while, I've been more into altering items but the other day when I got my scrapmuse kit I had such a good idea for a layout. This photo is taken by Tommie a few years ago when he was in Paris with his classmates.

Nicolaus gift

In Germany we celebrate Nicolaus today. On the night of December 5 to 6th you are supposed to clean your boots and put them outside your door and in the morning they will have been filled by the Nicolaus with gifts. We did a Nicolaus swap at my scrapbook forum and this is what I got from my secret Nicolaus partner.

Winner at Scraphappy

I am a big fan of Scraphappy and Lains pod casts. I download them to my ipod and listen to them on my way to work. Often they are very funny so I sit on the subway laughing for my self which means the people are staring weird at me ;). You can check out her blog HERE and listen to her pod casts HERE.

A few weeks ago she was interviewing Rene Pearson The author of Digital Designs and she held a drawing to win the book. Guess who won the book ;). Thank you Lain for picking my name!

I haven't had time to try it out yet but I am taking it with me when I go visit my sister and we will be trying it out togehter.

Sketch 58 and my fave song at the moment

I had time to do a new pencil lines sketch the other day. This is my try on sketch nr 58.

relax

The photos are taken in Sweden in July 2003 a few weeks before our wedding. I needed to work on my tan so we went to visit my parents at a camping place.

In case you have missed this song .... you can now listen to it and watch some Grey's anatomy at the same time *LOL*

Sneak peak, photoshop and going back to university

There is a new challenge on scrapmuse and I have chosen to alter something again :). I have this wall clock from IKEA which is broken on one side after I dropped it on the floor. I though why not pimp it up so that I can hang it back on the wall. Here is just a small sneak peak of the clock. Gonna post it again after the challenge is over.

Yesterday I got a link from a friend to a great
photoshop page "Moderskeppet". It's all in Swedish though. It has many video links where you can watch and learn how to use photoshop. He is also teaching an online course at the Jönköping university in Sweden. The next course starts in January and the application period has ended but you can still apply and get in if it isn't full already. I've always wanted to learn digital photo editing so keep your fingers crossed for me so that I get in either January or August. The best part is that university in Sweden doesn't cost much. You pay either 18 or 30 euro per term depending on how many weeks you will study.

I was playing around today with one of the 5
senses photo that I posted last time. I followed one of the video tutorials on "Moderskeppet". It was about making an evil face.

Layouts and mini album from Hamburg Workshop

A few weeks ago I went to a workshop in Hamburg. See previous post for info. Here are the layouts and the mini book that I did there.

First workshop was held by Andrea and it was about how to make your own stamps. I had this frog photo with me so I wanted to do something green.
frog

The third workshop was held by Nat and it was about old photos and heritage.

1937

The second workshop was held by Christiane and it was about your 5 senses. We made a mini album.

I took these 5 photos

feel b&w
listen b&w1
see b&w
smelling flower b&w
taste b&w

And here is a slide show of the mini album. The photo quality is really bad because I couldn't get enough of light anywhere.

Create your own stamps

I have been surfing around today and found this great Swedish page Sweetish sister where you can design your own stamps. Either you draw them self or you make a stamp from a photo of yours. I have been thinking about how it would be nice to create your own stamps but I didn't find any easy way to do so. As I'm celebrating Christmas in Sweden this year I might order one and pick it up at my parents.

Happy Birthday Christiane!!!!

Christiane I want to wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and of course a wonderful anniversary!!! I hope you have a wonderful day today!

I made you this little B-day layout. I played around a bit with this water based satin paint that I bought. On some places it feels like satin and on the chipboard where I used so much of it, it has not satin effect.

schulu bday

Other than that I am currently working on many projects at the same time. I have finally done my advent calendar gifts and sent them off today. I am 90% done with the projects from the workshop in Hamburg so I will be posting those soon.

I won 3rd prize with this frame at the scrapmuse forum.

Last week I also won another prize but I'm keeping that a secret until it arrives :)

From Workshop in Hamburg

I haven't had time to finish my layouts and mini album from the workshop last week. It was a GREAT WS and I learned a lot of new stuff. We created our own stamps, and learned that just because you use older photos of grand grand parents and older you don't have to do heritage style ;). This is great because this week I will be getting a bunch of old photos from my grandmother. We are going to sit together and she will be telling me all about the persons on the photos. I don't see my grandmother so oft and I can't even remember when I last looked in her photo albums.

Here is the cover for my mini album. It's my first in German. I usually don't scrap in German or Swedish or Finnish but I have been thinking a long time that I would love something in German which I can look back on when I am grey and old and remember those times when I lived in Germany ;).

Closet is done and a new headboard

I showed you a sneak peak earlier of my closet. It is now done and this is how it looks like.

We wanted to move our bed back to where it belongs (against the wall) but we didn't want to do it before we got a headboard. We only have a bed frame without headboard. The problem is that we can't buy a new bed here as out mattresses don't fit in the beds that are sold here :(. Our mattresses are from Sweden and they are great so there's no need to buy new ones. Anyway anyone knows how ugly your wallpaper can get if you don't have a headboard ;). We wanted to do something original that maybe not everybody have. I had an idea and quite frankly I like the result. We went to IKEA and bought flooring and put it on the wall. Now I just have to pimp my bedside tables as they don't look good with the wall. As it is flooring it's not that nice around the edges so we had to frame them with something. For that I used black velveteen scotch tape roll.

Sneak peak Closet

I'm taking a small break from scrapbooking today and starting to pimp my closet. It's going to be red so I'm only done the "pre painting". I have a small problem. The closet has 4 ugly keyhole locks in a really ugly color and I'm not quite sure what to do with them. I can't take them out. What do you think should I paint them red too? Any ideas are welcome!

Right now the color of the locks are "goldish". It still needs one more coat of white and after that I hope it needs only 2 coats of red color. Photo quality is not that good as the light is very bad. I haven't done anything to the locks yet. They are covered with scotch.

Scrapbooshop in italy

I got the September/October issue from Simple Scrapbooks yesterday and saw an add about an Italian online scrapbook shop, Scrap 4 all it is currently only in Italian but the english page is under construction. I hope it's a good one ;)

Love boat

When I was younger we used to go a lot on cruises between Sweden and Finland. We mostly went on 24 hour cruises as the 36 hour cruises were a bit tooo much partying *LOL* You go on board at 6-7 in the evening and start partying and then you party the whole night through. If you are fit for fight you can go off the boat a few hours in Finland but you have to be back in time when the boat leaves back to Sweden. I have called this LO for Love boat as usually there are a lot of flirting going on one these cruises :)

Happy Birthday Tanja!!!!

Today is Tanjas birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day today with full of Joy. I did a little Birthday LO to you.

Tagged

I got tagged by Mirija and it's all about music so here it goes..

1. Wie heißt Dein momentanes Lieblingslied und von wem ist es?
What's my favorite song at the moment.

Hmm I have many favorite songs at the moment so it's a difficult question. But a really nice song that I like is by Bon Jovi. Til we ain't strangers anymore.

But I also like Surrender by Billy Talent.

2. Von welchem Lied kannst du den Text in und auswendig und wieso?
To which song do you know the text by heart and why?

Ooh that's a lot of songs :). But well one for sure is From this moment by Shania Twain because it was our first dance as husband and wife :).

But as I am a HUGE The Rasmus Fan I must confess I do know almost all their text by heart ;)

3. Welche CD hast Du Dir zuletzt gekauft?
What CD did you buy most recently?

Hmm that would be Billy Talent II.

Who do I tag... well let's see
Iris
Daniela

Workshop, sneak peak and LO

First week of Dani's 6 week workshop is done and it has been soo much fun doing this album. Me and Tommie went to Djerba in 2004. I decided to put as much of my photos as I can in this album so that I have them all in one place.

Here is my take on the Make and Take workshop.

Here is a little sneak peak :)

And a LO about my curly hair that I had when I was young.

Journaling: When I was young it was really hip to have curly hair. As my hair was straight by nature I always went to the hairdresser to get it permed. These photos are taken with many years apart so I really liked it that way. Now I would never wear my hair like that and I am very happy that it isn't hip anymore.
