Long time no see!!!

Wow is it really September since my last post!? Days have gone by so fast, I have been working a lot with my two jobs and have been scrappin' a little but haven't had time to post it.

I have finished a work shop by Nat which was sooo fun to do! I am very happy with the results. You can see her post here.

This is what I did.

New home card

On Friday we were invited to my friends Jenny and Paul for a crayfish party. This is something typical Swedish which is normally held in August but we were all busy moving into our new homes so we postponed it to September. Jenny and Paul bought their new home the same day as me and Tommie so this was a crayfish/"welcome to new home" party so I made this cute little card for them. I've used items from July Scrap muse kit.

Materials used: Sassafras Lass, Bazzill rhinestones, October afternoon.

Don't forget about the little RAK contest. See my previous post.

+5000 RAK contest

Wohoo I can't believe I have reached 5000 visitors on my blog. To celebrate this and to see how many readers I really have I would love to give out a RAK to one reader. This is what I have in mind.

I would love to receive a scrapbook page from you. I have recently bought a new calendar/journal where you can put your own cover page in a pocket in the front of the book. The pocket is 21 cm x 14 cm or 8.3 inches x 5.5 inches.

The rules:

*The page should have my name on it somewhere: Eeva or Eeva Hall.

*You can do a digital page or a paper page or a mix of both. Please don't layer too much so the paper page gets too thick. It might not fit in the pocket. Or I'll just frame it and hang it on the wall instead :)

*Email me your digital page to the email address you find on the left side of my blog.

*If you want to send me a page through the mail email me for my address.

*You can email me for an invite to my online photo album if you would like to use a photo of me.

*Open for all both European and international scrapbookers.

The Winner
Out of all who has sent in I will draw one winner who will get to choose between one 10 dollar
gift certificate at your favorite store, or I'll send you a little goody bag full of Scandinavian scrapbooking products (stamps and embellishments). Worth 15-20 dollars.

The winner will be drawn 30th of September so you'll have plenty of time to create.

Interview on scrapmuse

Hello, dear friends I'm still here :). I know I've been silent for a while. There has been so much to do with the moving yet again but finally to our own place. I am trying to get everything organized in my scraproom but I seem to have more things than places to put them.

I haven't done any scrapbooking for weeks and I can't wait to get started again. Hopefully I will received my newest kit from scrapmuse before the weekend. If you are interested in learning more about me you can check the newest newsletter at scrapmuse. There's an interview with me.

Other than that there are some great news! I have finally gotten a job! It's only part time and so far after only 3 days I am still lovin' it! I get to speak German from time to time which is GREAT. And the people I work with are really nice.

Award and news

I know I have been quiet for a while. So much has happened and I haven't had time to scrap anything. To make a long story short we have moved again. We are now living in a small 1 room apartment and the 4th of august we are finally moving to our own "house". We have bought a part (second floor) of a house and will be moving hopefully for the last time in a very looooong time. We will hopefully go back to Hamburg to get our furniture the first week of August so that we don't have to live in an empty house ;).

I got an award from the lovely Mirija.

Here are the Award Rules:
1. The winner can take the logo.
2. Place a link to the person that send you the award.
3. Give the Award to at least 7 other Scrapbooking-Blogs, which by its currency, the issues of choice and for their designs are especially noteworthy.
4. Put a link to these sites on your Blog.
5. Write a comment on their Blogs that they've won an Award .

Hmm already many of my favorite blogs have gotten this award.. I want to give this to dear Tanja who does amazing layouts and cards.

Take a look at her blog.

Ravenea's Rockin' Challenge NKOTB

This challenge by SIStv was all about music and how it has affected you.

Hehehee NKOTB has touched my soul :). When I was young I was a HUGE NKOTB fan. My room was full of posters and I listened to them 24/7. Me and my best friend danced and sang to their music every day and we also have a tape (both video and cassette) where we sing and dance :). Whenever I hear a NKOTB song I think back on my happy childhood and all the fun we had. Now I listen to my old mixed tapes when I do spring and winter cleaning :) makes even cleaning fun *LOL*

Lost in this moment (STM challenge)

I really loved this weeks challenge at STM and I really really wanted to do a wedding photo. As I already told you I don't have my wedding photos here right now. I'll get them end of June when we go back to visit Hamburg. I do have some photos over at an old online photo album but the size of the photos are so small the quality gets bad when you try to print them. I took this photo from that album because it's my favorite photo of all time. I even have a bigger version of it framed on my wall but of course that frame is also still in Hamburg . I have been playing around with the photo in photoshop to minimize the bad quality. I made it a bit greenish to go with the color combo that I've chosen. It's hard to see that one this photo.

I've chosen to make a very bright layout and used not so traditional wedding colors. The journaling part is taken from the lyrics. In real life it's even brighter than this photo shows.

Materials used: CS Bazzill, PP Rhonna Farrer, Catter box, Danyeela patterned paper, Grungeboard, American crafts, Bo Bunny, Creative imaginations.

Photos from Öckerö

This weekend has been amazing! We are having such a great weather. Today we have over 30 degrees Celsius which is very warm for June here in Sweden. Yesterday we spent the whole day on the island Öckerö. It's only about 20-30 minutes car drive from here and then you take a ferry over to the island. Here some photos I took yesterday. The two photos with the boats are taken a few weeks ago when we also were on Öckerö.

Here is the result

Work in progress

I am working on a wedding gift so I can only show some bits and pieces from it. I wanted to use some Grungeboard on it so I chose a key and a key hole and 2 hinges. I tried out different techniques on it until I found the one that I liked the most.

First I tried copper colored embossing powder but I didn't like the result at all. Firstly you can't see the lovely swirls on the grungeboard anymore and second I got ugly bubbles all the time probably because I was blowing too hot air on it.

Then I came up with something else. I used my Glimmer mist from tattered Angels (copper color) and this acrylic metallic silver tube I bought at a store in Hamburg. I sprayed the mist on the grungeboard and then used my heat gun to blow away/dry the water so that only the glimmer stuff stayed on the grungeboard. Then I just dabbed a little of the silver color here and there where I didn't have so much of the glimmer. I wanted to have an old looking effect almost like silver that has a lot of rust. I am probably not the first to do this so if you have used glimmer mist this way and feel I should link to you just let me know.

Here is a photo of the 2 hinges. The right one is the one with embossing powder. The left one with the glimmer mist. I used the back side of the grungeboard for two reasons. 1 because I had done embossing on the front side and 2. because if you would do swirls on real metal it would probably look more like the backside of the grungeboard.

Here's how the key and key hole look like.
